Diamond Peak extends ski season through May 1
INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. (March 29, 2023) – With a snowpack measuring over 10 feet deep and more snow in the forecast this week, Diamond Peak Ski Resort is thrilled to announce it will be extending its 2022-23 ski season through Monday, May 1. This will be only the second time in the resort’s history that it has been open in May.
“This season has been pretty special,” said Diamond Peak General Manager Mike Bandelin. “With all of the snow on the ground and our local community of skiers and snowboarders eager for a long spring season, we are proud to be able to push our closing date out to May 1.”
Near record-setting snowfall totals
With 404 inches of snowfall through March 27, the 2022-23 ski season has been the second snowiest on record at Diamond Peak, trailing only the 2016-17 season when 476 total inches of snow fell. With an ongoing winter storm and five more weeks of the season remaining, there is still a chance that 2022-23 will surpass the 2016-17 season total.
