Diamond Peak Closing Week Info
Diamond Peak Closing Date – March 29, 2026
Due to the unseasonably warm temperatures the Lake Tahoe region has experienced this spring and all winter long, Diamond Peak Ski Resort will close for the 2025-26 ski season on Sunday, March 29, 2026.
“Given the low snowfall and warmer-than-average temperatures we’ve experienced this ski season, this winter has been very challenging from an operations standpoint,” said Diamond Peak General Manager Mike Bandelin. “But based on the smiles we’ve seen on the skiers’ and riders’ faces who have visited the resort this year, we’re happy with everything we’ve been able to accomplish during this, our 60th season. I’d like to thank our hard-working mountain operations team and all of the customers who joined us on the slopes this winter.”
Modified Operations
Beginning immediately, Diamond Peak will cease operations on the upper mountain (i.e. the Crystal Express chairlift) and focus on maximizing the snow quality on the lower mountain terrain that remains open through March 29. The resort plans to operate the Lakeview, Lodgepole and School House chairlifts, as well as the Pete’s Powerline surface lift inside the Child Ski & Ride Center.
$60 Deals Extended Through Closing Day
To make the closing week even more fun, Diamond Peak will be extending its old-school pricing $60 Deal Days throughout the final week of the season. Starting on Saturday, March 21, 2026, all lift tickets, ski or snowboard rental packages, and first-time learn-to-ski and learn-to-ride lesson packages are just $60 each.
Upcoming Events
Diamond Peak will still host the Luggi Foeger Uphill/Downhill Festival & SkiMo Race on Saturday, March 28, with a modified lower-mountain course. And on Sunday, March 29, the resort will host the 24th annual Dummy Downhill – the biggest spring party on the snow! Closing Week FAQ
Q: I bought a Flex Pass and didn’t use all the days. Can I use them next season?
A: Flex passes are only valid during the current ski season, so unused days will not roll over to future seasons and are non-refundable.
Q: I already purchased lift tickets for the final week when the mountain will only offer lower mountain skiing. Can I get a refund or partial credit?
A: Our ticket office has already refunded the difference between the price you paid and the $60 ticket rate. It could take up to five business days to see the refund on your credit card statement.
Q: I didn’t use my season pass at all this season, can I get a refund?
A: Our 2025-26 Peak Pledge easy refund policy allows for refunds on unused season passes if requested by January 15, 2026 with a $25 processing fee for each season pass refunded. Refunds are not issued after January 15, and we can not roll over season pass purchases from one season to the next.
Q: I have intermediate or advanced ski/ snowboard lessons booked during this time period. How will this affect me or my family?
A: Although our upper mountain is not open, we do have beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain open on lower mountain and our instructors are able to teach intermediate skiing and snowboarding concepts on this terrain.
Q: Is it too late to learn to ski or snowboard this season?
A: Definitely not! All of our beginner terrain and lesson areas are still open, and we’re actually offering $60 first-time learn to ski and $60 first-time learn to snowboard lessons for the final week of the season, while supplies last.
Q: Will there be terrain park features available during the final week of the season?
A: Yes. The Village Terrain Park on Wiggle currently has small and medium features. Check the mountain report page for any updates.
