Child Ski Center (3-6 years old)

{alt_text}

Diamond Peak is now closed for the 2021-22 ski season. See you next winter.

The Diamond Peak Child Ski Center provides Lake Tahoe's best learn-to-ski programs for kids ages 3-6 of all ability levels. With a separate learning area, surface lift, and low child-to-instructor ratio of 6:1 maximum, your children are sure to receive the attention they deserve in a safe, uncrowded and fun environment. Our instructors are dedicated to providing your children with the tools necessary to enhance their abilities and reach their full potential, all while having a fun experience on the mountain.

More About the Child Ski Center: Essentials & Fun!

The Child Ski Center (CSC) and the dedicated staff have a fun and welcoming vibe (and hot chocolate) to help your child have the best day on the slopes. After your child is checked-in, you are "off duty" and free to ski or relax on the deck. We handle everything from fitting them for equipment, putting on boots and making sure they have have a great time until you pick them up at the end of the program. Lift tickets, ski/snowboard rental equipment, helmets and goggles are included with all lesson packages and your child will be fitted for his or her gear right inside the Child Ski Center.

Dedicated Learning Area & Surface Lift for First-Timers /Beginners

Our dedicated learning area and Pete's Powerline surface lift is designed for first-time skiers and kids who are just starting to master the basics of sliding on snow and stopping. This area has a gentle slope and is fenced off to allow for less distractions and a safer environment for beginners. Family members may watch from outside the fence or can watch from a distance from the Base Lodge Deck. This exclusive area and the surface lift are only available for our group and private lesson programs.

Group Lesson Levels

Our staff will assist you in determining the correct level for your child, evaluate them at the beginning of the lesson and ensure they are in the proper level. Visit the Lesson Levels page for a description of all the levels offered.

We take chairlift safety seriously and require that children under 51" must ride the lift with an adult partner. For more information, please visit KidsOnLifts.org.
