The Diamond Peak Child Ski Center provides Lake Tahoe's best learn-to-ski programs for kids ages 3-6 of all ability levels. With a separate learning area, surface lift, and low child-to-instructor ratio of 5:1 max, your children are sure to receive the attention they deserve in a safe, uncrowded and fun environment. Our instructors are dedicated to providing your children with the tools necessary to enhance their abilities and reach their full potential, all while having a fun experience on the mountain.
2020-21 Season Rates
Pricing below includes value (midweek), weekend and peak rates for the 2020-21 ski season. 2020-21 Peak Periods are: December 19, 2020 - January 3, 2021; January 15-18, 2021; February 12-21, 2021.
All Child Ski Center lessons must be booked in advance by phone. Call 775-832-1177 to book a lesson, or leave a voicemail and an agent will contact you in the order received to book your lesson and take payment over the phone. You can generally expect a phone call or reply within 48 hours. A paid reservation is necessary to guarantee all Child Ski Center lessons. All products are subject to availability and may reach capacity at any time. Cancellation fees apply for all lessons. Same day reservations for private lessons, if available, must be made in person.
Due to the high volume of inquries, it may take a few days for us to return lesson requests.
Slide-With-Me parent & child private lessons will be offered for children ages 3-6. These private lessons will be offered by the hour and will focus on developing the child’s skills and giving tips to the parent on how to help their child to progress outside of the lesson. The parent must be able to ski or ride above the ability of their child and be comfortable loading and unloading the chairlift with their child. Personalized one-on-one instruction is the fastest way for your child to pick up skiing or snowboarding! Equipment rentals (including helmets & goggles) and lift tickets are included for your child, and may be used for the entire day (parents must have their own lift ticket/season pass and equipment, or rent equipment a la carte).

Group Ski Lessons (ages 4-6) - Beginners/First-Timers Only
Beginner/First-Timer = Your child has never skied before, is learning how to stop in a wedge, or needs a reminder of how to make a controlled wedge stop. Please view our Lesson Levels Explained page for more details. The lesson will be out on the snow in the Child Ski Center learning area with a dedicated surface lift. Parents must remain in the parent viewing area throughout the lesson to attend to child's personal needs.
Beginner small group lessons (5:1 student-to-instructor ratio) are available for children ages 4-6 years old. These lessons take place in the dedicated Child Ski Center learning area and are desiged for first-time skiers and/or kids who need more time mastering the basics on Pete's Powerline magic carpet surface lift. One parent/guardian must accompany the child through the check-in and equipment fitting process and remain in the “parent viewing area” throughout the lesson to tend to their child’s personal needs. Other family members may watch from a distance but only one parent/guardian is allowed in the designated viewing area/corral. Lesson times are 10 a.m., 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. All Group Lessons must be booked at least 24 hours in advance.
Group ski lesson packages include lesson, ski rentals, lift ticket, helmet/goggle rentals (if needed). Equipment rentals may be used for the entire day but needs to be returned by 4 p.m. We advise that you arrive at least 1 hour before the lesson starts to ensure enough time to get fitted for rental equipment, etc. (2 hours early during peak periods).

Cancellation/No Show Policy
Changes and/or cancellations made 48 hours or more before the start of your lesson are subject to a $25 administration fee per lesson booked (the fee will be applied for each individual participant and every day booked). No-shows, changes and/or cancellations made within 48 hours of the start of your lesson are non-refundable; and your credit card will be charged the full price of your reserved lesson. We do not issue refunds due to weather or snow conditions (unless the entire resort is closed on the day of your scheduled lesson).
Essentials & Fun
The Child Ski Center (CSC) has everything you need for your kids to have a fun day on the slopes! Lift tickets, ski/snowboard rental equipment, helmets and goggles for your child are included with all lessons and your child will be fitted for his or her gear inside the Child Ski Center. If you have your own equipment, you are welcome to bring it but there is no additional discount.

Safety First! Helmet & Chairlift Policy
Helmets are provided for all Child Ski Center programs but if you have your own you are welcome to bring it. There’s some great information at www.lidsonkids.org.
Kids on Lifts: We take chairlift safety seriously and require that children under 51" must ride the lift with a parent or guardian from the same household. For more information, please visit KidsOnLifts.org.
