Diamond Peak Uphill Race - March 31st Mar 20, 2007 For media inquiries, please contact Barb Collier Marketing Coordinator (775) 832-1120 INCLINE VILLAGE:  For the first year, Diamond Peak announces the Uphill Race to Snowflake Lodge on March 31st. Participants will hike up to the lodge at 8am in the morning and enjoy a continental breakfast with pastries, coffee and hot chocolate, complemented with special drinks of the day, such as The Lakeview Mimosa and the Popular Bloody Mary (cocktails are $4 each, breakfast is included in the entry fee). Registration fee is $10 and people can register the day prior to the event at Guest Services window or the day of the event at bottom station of Lakeview Chair between 7:15am - 7:45am. Participants must have a lift ticket for the day or a season pass if they plan on skiing/riding at Diamond Peak after the event is over. The registration fee includes a commemorative Uphill Race T-shirt and continental breakfast at Snowflake Lodge. You must go up to the lodge under your own power - skis with skins or snowshoes and you need to have equipment to ski or ride down from Snowflake Lodge - skis, snowboards and telemark skis are all acceptable. The opposite of the famous Last Tracks, this First Tracks Uphill Race will challenge people interested in going up the mountain on their own. Enjoy breakfast and award ceremony at Snowflake Lodge and ski or ride for the rest of the day. Race starts at 8am. Prizes will be provided for best time (male and female) plus a raffle for everyone participating. Prizes include: Major tune up from Village Ski Loft; Cosmo's Footferks certificate; Breakfast at the Hyatt; Lunch or dinner at Austin's; T's certificate; ½ hour facial and ½ hour massage package at Aloha Spa, Sport Challet gift certificate; Crosby's certificate; Diamond Peak swag and more.
