What a day, what a week, what a month!

I can’t believe we are already officially one month from our projected season closing date of April 11th! But that doesn’t mean we are slowing down one bit. In fact, there is an abundance of cool happenings on the agenda for Diamond Peak, and plenty of snow left to enjoy them all. Let’s just call today the calm before the storm because our event calendar is off the charts, peeps! In the wake of the Celebrity Winterfest last weekend (which was a blast) the Learn to Ski and Burton Learn to Ride week will be wrapping up tomorrow, then lookout because the Jiblet is coming back to town. Round 3 of the popular Burton Jiblet series will be happening this Saturday the 13th. This fun competition is for Intermediate/Advanced skiers and boarders of all ages to show their best trick on our feature constructed exclusively for this event. Great prizes will be awarded and this Saturday is the last chance to qualify for the Burton Jiblet Invitational happening on April 3rd and 4th where there will be cash and great prizes awarded. Come up to participate or to cheer on the participants from the Base Lodge deck at 11:30 where there will be live music by Jeff Jones. Also on Saturday for only $35, you can sign up for a Burton Specialty Clinic from 10am to 12pm where you can learn on Burton specially designed snowboards. On Sunday the 14th, Village Ski Loft will be here with a demo day and you can have your choice of Burton, V2, Volkl and more to try out. On Monday, March 15th, if you haven’t heard about this yet, you may want to spread the word because we are having a FREE skiing day if your birthday is between April 12th and December 16th. This is for our guests who have birthdays on the off-season and could not take advantage of our ski-free-on-your-birthday deal. Just show your off-season birthday ID, and you get to ski free on March 15th. Also on March 15th we are kicking off our 2010/2011 Season Pass Sale. If you buy your discounted 10/11 Season Pass now you can ski the rest of this season free! 27 days of free skiing, can’t beat that! We’ll be celebrating St. Patty’s Day on March 17th with a Community Appreciation Day. If you’re “lucky” enough to live within a 50 mile radius you can get a lift ticket for only $20 on this day. In addition to these special events, don’t forget about Last Tracks every Saturday through April 10th. For only $29 you get to ski from 2:30-4:30, then enjoy fine wine tasting and appetizers up at Snowflake Lodge until sunset and ski down a freshly groomed run! I wasn’t kidding about this week, and there is so much more to come! Check our event calendar for other happenings through the end of the season, like a sushi and sake Last Tracks, a Go Lil’ or Go Home Festival, and the 10th Annual Dummy Downhill to name just a few. Now since you have all these great excuses to come up and ski, don’t forget to take lots of pictures and submit your best one to our Facebook photo contest. You may just win a Diamond Peak season pass, a mini pass or lift tickets. For more information go to www.facebook.com/diamondpeak and click on the contest tab. Enjoy!
