Valentine's Dinner and other tasty tidbits

I was just checking out our Valentine’s Day dinner menu at Snowflake lodge and “ooh lala”! I’ll give you an overview; 5 courses, 4 of them paired with their own wine. Tantalizing dishes that include a fresh crab and avocado ceviche (that’s marinated, for us culinarily uneducated folks), a luscious sounding butternut squash soup, a (truly) scrumptious romaine & endive salad covered in a tasteful combination of grapefruit, walnut and pecorino (that’s a like-parmesan-but-better Italian cheese), and a melt in your mouth grilled Filet of Beef with wild mushrooms. Top off your meal with Chocolate Pot de Crème which I read is like eating a chocolate truffle in a cup. (I’m sold!) Add that mouth watering menu to the invigorating chairlift ride up and the fantastic view of Lake Tahoe from Snowflake Lodge and you are sure to have one ultra-romantic and unforgettable experience. The cost is $285 all inclusive, per couple. That includes both of your meals, wine, tip, a fabulous view of Lake Tahoe and that memorable evening ride up and down the chairlift with your love. No need for skis on this special day. If you want a meal that will really impress, or you just feel like indulging, take your love to a higher level and celebrate Valentine’s Day with us. You won’t regret it. Call 775-832-1194 to make a reservation before it sells out. If you haven’t found that special someone to spoil, or maybe you are just a Valentine’s Day boycotter, consider getting a taste of this experience by purchasing a ticket for Last Tracks. Last Tracks is a wine and appetizer après-ski delight which also takes place at Snowflake Lodge just before sunset every Saturday until the end of the season. You will, however, need your skis or snowboard in order to get down from mid-mountain after the event. (We will even groom the last run just for you.) The ticket for Last Tracks is only $29 and includes skiing from 2:30-4:30. You must be an intermediate or above level skier or boarder and at least 21 years old to participate in Last Tracks. So come on up, and bring a friend. Or who knows, while you’re here you may even meet your future Valentine’s Day date, or possibly the love of your life!
