The way up...

Today was an absolutely perfect day for a fair weather skier like me.
A no-beanie-required type of day. There was one exception; up at the top of Crystal it was a little nippy. But at that altitude, you can expect it. You know if your ears pop in the chair on the way up, you're probably going to have to cover your ears, and/or zip up your jacket once you get up there.
At the top, the snow was real good and all of the people I spoke with on the chair lifts seemed to be happy about the conditions, including a nice gentleman named Greg from Minneapolis (shout out Greg!) He thinks Lake Tahoe and the view at the top of Diamond Peak makes it one of the most beautiful places to ski anywhere. And he should know, having skied all over the country on a regular basis. I also met a lovely couple vacationing for an entire month in Lake Tahoe all the way from New Jersey! Today was their very first day of skiing, and look where they decided to go; the place with the most beautiful view of Lake Tahoe from the top. I think if I came to Lake Tahoe all the way from New Jersey or Minneapolis, I would come to Diamond Peak first too.
