It's coming...

Last night each of my family members took a guess at how much new snow would be waiting when we woke up in the morning. The guesses ranged from 6" to a whopping 2 feet. Eagerly my daughter ran to the window to see if her guess would win and we were surprised to see, no new snow overnight! Yes, it did dump-yesterday-and we did get about 4" at Lake level, and 6" up at the resort, but last night, nada, zilch, nothin'! With all the hoopla all over the news yesterday about this gigantic storm coming, and from what I saw all over the radar yesterday, I thought we would have seen something overnight, but nope! So this morning, it's still not snowing. I can see it coming on the radar, and it looks like it's going to be big, real big. But right now, if you are lucky enough to still be in Tahoe and are coming to ski this morning, you are in for a real treat. The snow is amazing, the wind is minimal (at least for now), and so far we still have parking in our upper lot. (Either tons of people heeded the warnings and jammed home early during the break in the storm, so not to get snowed in, or they all stayed up pretty late last night and just haven't arrived yet...) So if you're awake, and still in Tahoe I would highly recommend you to skip the Starbucks line and spend as much time this morning as you can on the slopes before the big storm does hit. And hey, tomorrow is looking really awesome, it's probably going to be the best day of the season. Getting snowed in tonight might be the perfect excuse to get a few runs in then as well!
