It may just be epic at Diamond Peak!

This morning, it was quite cold, but the sun was shining and snow was calling my name. We just had 8 inches of new snow in the last 48 hours so I broke my "no beanie" rule, put on my hat and gear, and headed out for a few runs. I am really glad I did. The perfect quality of the snow, and the beautiful day far outweighed any excuse to not get out and enjoy a little of what this resort has to offer.
Taking in the gorgeous scenes and rejuvenated by the crisp air and feeling the swish of soft powdery stuff gliding under my skis, I was reminded how small but mighty our resort is, and I felt so blessed to be capable to enjoy it. Up at the top of Crystal, a view of the lake unsurpassed anywhere in Tahoe, the snow was supreme and groomed perfectly. It was so absolutely beautiful up there, even with a frozen chin, it was amazing. I did catch a small stretch of ungroomed terrain coming down Lakeview run under the Ridge chair, and not being a "powder" skier, I felt an amazing sense of accomplishment after conquering it without falling once! It was awesome.
I was checking my email after returning back to work, and I had an email inquiry that read; "Someone told me that on a powder day, Diamond Peak is usually relatively uncrowded. I think this weekend with the storms and the other resorts packed, I was hoping to find some sanity and untracked (terrain) at Diamond Peak...so Sunday at Diamond Peak could be epic." Epic indeed.
