So what are you going to call it, 20-10, O-10, Two-Thousand Ten, or just 10?
I vote for 20-10 myself. It sounds futuristic and I like it. When I was a child in the 70’s I decided that 2010 would be the ultimate year of futuristic things. 2010, as I dreamed it, would be full of flying cars and people teleporting here and there. (This resulted mostly from watching too many episodes of The Jetsons and Star Trek.) 2010 sounded space-aged to me. It seemed so distant that I often wondered if I would even live long enough to see it, and if I did I thought I would be so very old then. 2010, I thought, was a very, very long ways away. Well, isn’t it amazing how time just keeps ticking, virtually flying by? And here I am, still living, in 20-10. Thankfully, more youthful than I had imagined I would be, so that’s a good thing, and with 40 being the new 30 and so on, there’s not really as much of a limit as far as what I can still do. Well, I should be a little weary of a few things. I probably wouldn’t take up break dancing. But there are several things I still want to learn and it’s never too late to learn something new. Like skiing or snowboarding you might ask? Why, yes, and at Diamond Peak we have one of the best deals around for learning, only $69 for either skiing or boarding for ages 7 and older. You get the lift ticket, group lesson and equipment. And, if you make it up during the week of Jan 11-15 this awesome deal will be reduced to only $29! Now, these beginner packages aren’t just for kids, I see people of all ages everyday taking first time lessons. Actually, this year more than ever I am seeing the 20, 30 and even 40-somethings doing it. And why stop there? Once you learn, you can enjoy your new skill for always. I absolutely adore seeing even the 70 and 80+ year-“youngs” that ski at Diamond Peak. That is inspiration to me. I hope at that age I can still get out there and enjoy the good life and the awesome feeling of the cold sierra snow scrunching under my snow boots as I slide down a freshly groomed run. Of course, I have much living to do until then and now that I have lived to see the ultimate year of futuristic things, in addition to eating right and exercising, my resolution is that I will look forward to what the future holds. I will try my best to let go of any preconceived notions of what I will look like or what I can accomplish. My New Years wish to you is the same; that you always look forward to a future of new experiences, new beginnings and endless possibilities. May you live long and prosper and be blessed in 20-10.

Funny you mention flying cars. Back around 1970 or so, my sis and I were certain that flying cars (as pictured above) would be a reality WAY before 2000! My, how time flies (no pun intended)!
That $29 lesson deal sounds mighty tempting, it may be just the incentive I need to actually try snowboarding after 40-plus years of only skiing..I only hope my creaky old bones can stand up to the punishment, ha!
Is this a great resort or what?
