Diamond Peak is Closed for 2009/2010by dawn
Thank you all for a great season! We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons...not always in the sun, but boy what a season! It began with a pre-Christmas-time dumping resulting in a huge turnout for Christmas week, and the snow kept delivering and the cold temps kept our snow in amazing shape all season. Our events this season were well attended and much enjoyed. Old favorites like the always entertaining Dummy Downhill and Poker Run and our newer favorite Jiblet series delivered. We retired the tired old Vertical Challenge and Uphill/Downhill races and added a few new successful events that we will hopefully be seeing again next season, including the wonderful Special Olympics fundraiser Winterfest and the super-coolest bonfired-torchbearing and horn-donning event to benefit the Diamond Peak Ski Team called Ullrfest. What a great time we had! Now the season ends with a bang with unseasonable April snow. But in spite of this freakish Winter-style weather, we must close once again. So after making your Spring snowmen, and while enjoying your hot cocoa by the fire, you can reflect on what a great time you had at Diamond Peak this season. And while you're still in ski mode, perhaps you can get a jump on your Dummy or start collecting your Viking costume for next year. In 2010 & 2011 it is just going to get better... |
