Email about Valentine's Dinner at Snowflake Lodge

We can't rave enough about Scott, IVGID's Food and Bev Manager, and his wonderful staff for sharing their talents for and with all of us lucky attendees.  My husband and I both agree that the Snowflake Lodge is truly the best setting in Lake Tahoe, and this daytime "ski hut" was transformed into the most romantic 5 star restaurant! The menu was mouth wateringly delicious, and the wine pairings superb.  We never waited for anything.  And finally, it was a surreal experience going down with my hubby on the chairlift in the dark and utter quiet...ultra cool.  Thank You IVGID, Diamond Peak, Scott and crew for the best Valentine's Day we've ever had and we can't wait until next year!

Thank you to Jay (Diamond Peak) & Danilelle (Hyatt) again for the amazing service you and the entire staff you provided to me and my group of Google engineers this past Thursday and Friday. I was also very honored to have met General Manager  Ed Youmans at Diamond Peak and then later receive a signed welcome note from him later in the day!  All my colleagues raved how they loved this offsite and had a great time and already can't wait to come back.  Of course, I have many other engineering teams I support and I am definitely going to recommend this hotel and ski resort to them and my other administrative colleagues after my wonderful experience this week.  And I'll even admit that I may have to come back without colleagues on a weekend to show my other half just how awesome your hotel and ski resort are since he's pretty jealous he was stuck working while we were having fun.

This is my first season at Diamond Peak and I just have to tell you that your employees are the BEST!  So friendly, so helpful, so much fun to be around!  Even with the dismal conditions, they make the days so pleasant.

I appreciate great service; the efforts of your staff do not go unnoticed or unappreciated. Your folks continue to be friendly and helpful and charming.  Very, very gracious and they go out of there way to make my days at DP so pleasant.  They smile!  How refreshing!

But get this... although my ski partner is an excellent skier, he's a clutz in every other way, bless his heart.  He loses things constantly. At DP, (to date) he's lost his sunglasses and a glove.  BOTH times we assumed they were gone for good, and both times they have been returned.  He's overjoyed and I'm amazed. Every other ski place in the world employs a combination of the "Who Cares?" and the "Finders Keepers" Lost and Found policy. Once again, you guys are so far above the rest.

That's it - just thanks so much from both of us for making every day delightful. One more month and we're outta here, but we'll see y'all next season for sure.

4 kids- 4 different levels. Teachers were professional and took time to accurately pay attention to each child. Thank you!

Had an unreal time- learned heaps, thanks!  My wife, 2 small boys and I recently returned from Lake Tahoe where we spent 3 days skiing at Diamond Peak. I hadn't been skiing in 35 years, my wife not in 21, and it was the first time for my boys (ages 5 and 7). Let me say that the program that they have in place for teaching children is second to none. Once you have signed the child in for the lesson and paid the tab (not too steep) they take care of everything. Never more than 5 children to a teacher. Breaks for snacks and a great nuturing place. I recommend it highly for folks who want to get their kids started and go skiing themselves while the kids are in class. As a relative novice, I can't speak for how an advanced skiier would like Diamond Peak, but the lesson (with teacher Jake) was great. In two hours I was skiing down the easy slopes. Neither my wife nor I wiped out ONCE and we had a great time. The rental shop is quick, reasonable and the equipment is first rate. We can't wait to go back next year!

DP is sick! Why? 5 reasons.
1. Conveyor Belts- The only place I've seen a conveyor belt used to enter their high speed quad lift. The conveyor belts sit behind a gate that opens up when it's your turn to move forward onto the lift. This innovation is something most resorts need to keep people from confusingly moving forward at the wrong time.
2. Huge Box by the Cafeteria Deck- The 20 foot box right in front of the lodge makes for some fun board slides as well as great entertainment!
3. AMAZING Views of the Lake - DP has the best kept secret view of the Lake, so much so that you almost feel like you’re going to ride/ski right into it!
4. Lack of Crowds - You can find your own lines thru the trees or thru the 'expert' Canyon without seeing more than a couple other people.
5. Separate Beginner Area - The bunny slopes next to the parking lot is a great spot for the little ones to learn while you go shred/ski up on the top.

4.5 STARS really...there isn't anything I dislike about Diamond Peak...
1 STAR-Location..close to Reno/Sparks & Carson City & RNO airport
1 STAR-Price point...fair pricing for lift tickets, instruction, packages
1 STAR-learn to ride/ski programs and packages
1 STAR-variety of season passes...anytime, mid-week, & beginner
1 STAR-beautiful vistas of the Lake....STUNNING!
WHAT IS GREAT ABOUT DIAMOND PEAK?
Location, Location, Location...closest Lake Tahoe resort to Reno/Sparks and Carson City (30 miles).
Another perk of its locale is the way it is situated in the mountains.  The terrain is fairly sheltered from the sometimes brutal Tahoe winds that whip the crap out of you at other places.
PRICE POINT....
Diamond Peak is not only a fun place to ride/ski, but the lift tickets don't cost a fortune.  Thus, if you are a student, senior, or just trying NOT to squander all your hard earned dough on some R & R time, then you should check out their packages and deals.
GREAT PLACE TO LEARN TO RIDE/SKI...
Not only do they have a well-established learn to ski program, but also a Burton Learn-to-Ride Center...I dislike the Burton business model, but they do make a flexible board...which makes for a more "forgiving" experience when first learning.  So heck, why not?!
SEASON PASSES....
They offer a variety...even a beginner season pass, which is so cool if you are just learning....so be sure to check their website for one that works best for you.
